LIBRARY LAUNCHES NEW PROGRAM
Noted throughout the Big Country Library System for its innovative programs, we are launching yet another new idea. A VIP group is being organized to provide more opportunities to be involved in the various programs of the library.
People of all ages may become a Volunteer in Program. Volunteers are the driving force behind all of the extra activities that go on at the library. All of the children's programs, the Meet the Author series, computer classes, the fund-raising activities, the newsletter and the actual decisions of ownership are carried out by a small network of volunteers.
Every single activity going on at the library could benefit from additional VIP's. In addition to easing the load of the faithful few leading the current programs, more VIPs would mean that more computer classes COULD be offered, more book discussion groups COULD be scheduled, more children's workshops COULD be provided. And, most importantly, the Children's Resource Center COULD move from a dream to reality much quicker.
To become a VIP, you can simply complete the Volunteer in Program form in this newsletter and return it to the library.
There is absolutely no fee to become a VIP -- just a willingness to give a few hours of your time.
If you would rather provide financial support, that is certainly a welcome contribution also.
With the gift of money, you can become a Friend of the Library; with the gift of time, you can become a VIP. Both are welcome; both are necessary.
For more information about becoming a VIP or a Friend of the Library, please contact the library at 725-7722.
