Lester Galbreath, author of Learning From Longhorns and Campfire Tales, resides in Albany, Texas. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture and Chemistry from Tarleton State University, his career with Texas Parks and Wildlife began at Dinosaur Valley State Park and Lake Whitney State Park. Most recently, he managed the State Herd of Texas Longhorn cattle at Fort Griffin State Park for over 30 years. He is Chairman of the Shackelford County Historical Commission. Lester has been the recipient of the Leadership Award with the Texas Parks & Wildlife, Volunteer of the Year Award from the Albany Chamber of Commerce and numerous cattle awards.
