"Made With Love: The Pinecraft Pie Shop" by Tricia Goyer and Sherry Gore

I just finished reading the large print edition of MADE WITH LOVE The Pinecraft Pie Shop by Tricia Goyer and Sherry Gore. This was a great Amish story with a couple of extras in the book that I thoroughly enjoyed.   At the beginning of each chapter is a thought-provoking Amish Proverb and at the end of each chapter is a recipe (and not just for pies).

Lovina (Love) Miller should be thrilled. Pinecraft, Florida, has everything a young Amish woman could ask for: sun, sand, volleyball, and evening singing in the park.  But Pinecraft lacks the thing Lovina desperately wants – a pie shop of her own.   She longs for a place to gather with the community and serve the treat she loves.   

Then, young carpenter Noah Yoder strolls into her life and offers a way to make her dream come true.  But before Noah and Lovina can build a shop – and a life – together, they must each face heartaches from the past.

Lovina has four younger sisters all unmarried and gifted in their own right.  The story brings her closer to her sisters and family, who are willing to risk everything in order to see Lovina’s dream come true.

Noah Yoder was unruly in his younger years and now is guiding three young men who had gotten themselves into some trouble.  Could he teach them a trade and also have them learn about how God is a part of their life? 

Lovina sees her pie shop “Me, Myself, and Pie” ready to open, but something happens to make her question her faith in God.  It takes the community to restore her faith in God and fellow man.
