Frances R. Dewing Foundation Awards Grant for Jeremiah 29:11 Project Books
The trustees of the Frances R. Dewing Foundation have awarded $1,437.60 to the Cross Plains Public Library to purchase books for kids 12 and under in the Jeremiah 29:11 Project. According to the award, "This is not the usual type of grant given, but the trustees thought this program met the needs of a community that might not have access to other sources of funding."
Each weekend, our children will receive a variety of age-appropriate books about history, community involvement, fingerprint painting, origami, robot-making, collecting bugs, etc. in their backpacks.
The library is very excited to be able to purchase these books that were desperately needed. Library director Sandra Ross explained, "We received lots of books for our teens in the free FirstBook.org distribution, but very few for our primary and elementary children. Thanks to this grant, we can now purchase high-quality, new books for this age group."
