"READ ALOUD CAFE "
During the summer we have two summer reading programs for the youth.  One is called the Read Aloud Cafe for children who have finished kindergarten through 5th grades and The Little Readers, ages 3 to 6 years old.
The Read Aloud Cafe is managed by Jacque Childress and The Little Readers are directed by Sue Bennett.
The Little Readers work with arts and crafts designed to a theme, listen to stories, finger plays...etc.

As for the Read Aloud Cafe, they will again serve lunch to the children in our "cafe" and provide them with an abundance of memorable read aloud stories.  Even though this is not what many would consider a "traditional" approach for a summer reading program, it has proved to be a very positive way to expose our children to wonderful literature and, in turn, they continue the hunt for their own books for the remainder of the summer.  Please watch for "Read Aloud Cafe" and "The Little Readers"  announcements in upcoming issues of the Cross Plains Review.  If you would like to help provide food items for the week, please contact the Library at 725-7722.  We would love to have your child participate!
