LAP (Learn About Program)

LAP and Lapsit Programs

The Cross Plains Public Library offers two programs for children not yet in pre-K.

The Learn About… Program (LAP) is the preschool program for children ages 3-5 and is held every Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, November through April.  Your child must be 3 years old by September 1 to attend.  LAP gives the children the opportunity to hear stories, sing songs, learn the alphabet and numbers, learn how to behave in a classroom, make simple craft items, and check out books from the library, as well as enjoy light refreshments.  Local teachers have praised our “graduates” as being ready to learn when they reach Kindergarten.

The Lapsit program is for infants from birth until they are old enough to join the LAP program.

The Learn About… and Lapsit programs are held at the same time for the convenience of parents with children in both groups.  Parents can simply drop their children off for LAP attendance, but a parent must be with the infant (or infants) in the Lapsit program.
