Cross Plains Public Library (TX)

Circulation Policy

All materials available for check out (printed books, audio books, and videos) may be checked out for 3 weeks.

A patron can have up to 6 items checked out at one time, except for new patrons checking out materials for the first time.

For new patrons, the initial check out can include no more than 2 items.

Patrons under 18 years of age must have a parent's or guardian's permission to check out library materials unless they are enrolled in LAP. This does not apply to patrons with checkout privileges as of the date of adoption of this policy.

Any item checked out may be renewed twice by calling the library. After two renewals, a checked-out item must be brought to the library for further renewal.

The fine for late returns will be $.05/business day.

Any patron with more than $1.00 in late fines will not be allowed to check out materials until the fines are paid.

If a patron loses a book, he/she must pay for the lost book before he/she will be eligible to check out any more material.

Under special circumstances, occasional exceptions to the previous policies for late fines and lost books may be arranged with the librarian.

Laptop computers are available for those 18 & over to check out for use in the library during that library session. New patrons must leave their driver's licenses at the front desk to check out a laptop.
