Policy for Multi-purpose Room Use

The multi-purpose room is available to individuals or organized groups in the Library’s service area.  Individuals or groups from outside the area may be allowed to use the multi-purpose room at the Board’s discretion.

The fact that a group is permitted to meet at the Library does not in any way constitute an endorsement of the group’s policies or beliefs by the Library, Library staff, or the Board.

Library programming will always have first priority in room use.

The multi-purpose room should be reserved at least 7 days in advance, though last minute requests may be accommodated if possible.  If the meeting is cancelled, the Library staff should be informed as soon as possible before the date.  “Standing” reservations will be accepted.

If a group wishes to meet outside of regular Library hours, arrangements must be made for a Board member or Library staff member to be present in the Library during the meeting.  Such attendance by the Board or staff member will be strictly on a volunteer basis.  If no Board or staff member is willing to attend voluntarily, the group has the option of offering to pay a staff member if the staff member is willing.

There will be no charge for the use of the multi-purpose room.

No admission may be charged by the group or individual using the room.

No food or beverages are allowed, unless by special arrangement with the Library Director.  No alcoholic beverages may be served.

No use of tobacco products will be allowed at any time inside the Library.

The group is allowed access only to the multi-purpose room and the restroom, and is not authorized to use any Library equipment except by special arrangement with the Board or Library Director.

The group using the room will leave it in neat, clean, orderly condition.

The Library is not responsible for any equipment, supplies, clothing, materials, or other items brought to the Library for the meeting by any group or individual.

The Library Board and staff assume no liability for groups or individuals attending a meeting in the Library.

Unless specifically stated otherwise in the Multi-purpose Room Policy, the Policy on Patron Behavior is to be followed.

Any failure to comply with Library rules may result in losing the right to use the multi-purpose room.
