"The Lightkeeper's Daughter" by Colleen Coble

I just finished reading the first book in Colleen Coble’s Mercy Falls Series, “The Lightkeeper’s Daughter” - a mystery with a romantic twist.

Addie Sullivan lives with her mother in a northern California lighthouse.  Her mother has never been kind to her but they lead a quiet life together until one night during a storm an injured stranger, who thinks she is Julia Eaton - the long lost daughter of a wealthy family.  Her “mother” confirms the story and says that someone has been paying her to keep her there as her daughter.

Addie travels to the Redwood Forest keeping her identity a secret until she has fool proof documentation that she is Julia Eaton.  She is hired by the “stranger” to be a governess to a young child and finds romance with his father John.  John tries to help her find out who has been paying to keep her away from her Eaton Family.

As clues are found Addie finds faith and love but at what cost?  The story has a lot of intrigue and someone is trying to kill Addie… but why?
